I create one of a kind wheel thrown functional pottery such as various styles of mugs ranging from latte mugs to espresso cups as well as unique sizes and shapes of bowls and lidded jars. I experiment with surface design techniques including chattering on greenware, layering of distinct coloured glazes, to combining contrasting coloured clay resulting in unique and dramatic marbling effects.
Although my pieces are created with functionality in mind, I also believe they can be at the same time pieces of art which speak to people through design and colour. I am continually evolving my art form by working with diverse clay bodies like coloured porcelain and black stoneware, while expanding my repertoire of art forms further.
The relationship between clay, form and colour and the unknown results arising from these bonds is what excites me and inspires my work.
