The Bright Strings Community Fiddle Orchestra

Artist Bio

The Bright Strings Community Fiddle Orchestra” directed by Cindy McCall is an all ages group of 50+ fiddlers, with guitar, percussion, whistle, viola, cello, bass, clarinet, flute and vocal accompaniment. They will perform some of their recently perfected, delightful repertoire. This enthusiastic bunch hails from the rural areas close by and rehearses every Saturday at the Maberly Hall. Their fiddle music is sure to get your toes tapping and the fun they are having is contagious!

The Orchestra was created and inspired for many years by Carolyn Stewart, supported by the Blue Skies Music Festival to foster fiddle traditions in the communities of Frontenac and Lanark Counties. The Orchestra has grown over the last 15 years under the leadership of Cindy McCall and has now registered as it’s own non profit to continue to grow and provide low cost musical recreation and education in various styles of fiddle based music in our rural area.
