For twenty-five years, the Academy for Musical Theatre, led by Heidi Stepanek, has been an integral part of the Perth Community, inspiring over 6000 youths to follow their dreams and shoot for the stars! Offering workshops in singing, acting, dance and technical theatre, and culminating in the performance of Broadway productions, the primary mandate of the Academy is to inspire confidence. The Academy is the longest standing performer at the Stewart Park Festival – this will be their 22nd time on the SPF mainstage!
In celebrating their 25th anniversary this summer, the Academy has welcomed back alumni, some of whom now have their own children on stage, to perform a number with us.
And this year’s Academy stars will be performing a “Lin-Manuel Miranda Fiesta” with songs and dances from the recent Disney hit “Encanto” and from the musical “In the Heights.”
