Stewart Park Festival is more than a festival that celebrates music, arts, and dance for all ages each year. We take pride in partnering with organizations and building community in many ways. The YAK Duck Race takes place on Sunday of the Festival each year which is the largest single fundraiser for our local youth center. We also provide financial support for YAK’s participation in the Be In The Band Program.
Ways We Are Involved
We are strong supporters of our communities youth. Each year we have a Youth Showcase highlighting local talent and sponsor a youth performer at the Folk Music Ontario Conference. We provide an annual $ 100.00 High School Bursary for .
We are constantly striving for people from a variety of backgrounds to experience the magic of the festival. For example we have assisted groups such as Lanark Community Living to attend the festival and children from Camp Merrywood, Easter Seals Camp to assist at the festival gate.
We partner with organizations by providing a Community Tent in the market to highlight local organizations, provide demonstration space for organizations such as Plenty Canada, and distribute flyers for downtown businesses at our information tent.
We have contributed to the payment of downtown Christmas lights and the acoustical upgrade at The Crystal Palace. These are some examples of how we give back to the community. We look forward to giving back and building community together in new and innovative ways as look to the future!
